Purpose: Verify the correct calibration constant (KO) is in the TEOM and that it has not varied more than +/- 2.5%.
Required Equipment: Pre-weighed calibration filter,
Filter extraction tool,
Flow audit adapter with zero filter attached.

Verify correct KO
1. This procedure will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete.
2. At DataView, down the TEOM channel.
3. Open the Mass Transducer and record the Calibration Constant (KO).
4. While the Mass Transducer is open, remove the filter and close the Mass Transducer.

At the TEOM keypad press STEP SCREEN the
“LISTING OF SCREENS” will appear, scroll down to “Set Hardware”, press ENTER,
the top line is “Cal Const>” (KO).
6. Verify that the displayed KO is the same as the KO on the label in the Mass Transducer. If not, contact Plano for resolution. If the same, proceed.
7. At the TEOM inlet, remove the PM10 inlet and put the Zero filter on.
8. At the TEOM, on the keypad, key 17 and press ENTER, the “KO Confirm” screen will display.

With the cursor (>) at “Filt Wght”, press
10. Press ENTER, and the filter weight should now be displayed on the screen.
11. Wait at least 15 minutes for the frequency value on the “K0 Confirm” display line to stabilize.
12. When stable, press FIRST/LAST to record the frequency.
13. Open the Mass Transducer and install the pre-weighed filter, close the Mass Transducer.
14. Wait at least 15 minutes for the frequency value on the “K0 Confirm” display line to stabilize.
15. When stable, press FIRST/LAST to record the frequency.
16. The TEOM will automatically calculate the “Audit K0” and calculate the “% Diff”.
17. Scroll down to view the “Actual K0” and “% Diff”
18. If the “% Diff” is more than +/- 2.5% contact Plano for resolution,
19. If the “% Diff” is less than +/- 2.5%, record the “Actual K0”, “Audit K0” and “% Diff” in the Site Log.
20. Open the Mass Transducer to remove the pre-weighed calibration filter and put it away.
21. Install a new TEOM filter, and close the Mass Transducer.

24. At the TEOM inlet, remove the zero filter and reinstall the PM10 inlet.
25. When the TEOM has reached a status of “OK…4”, up the TEOM channel on DataView.
26. In TrackOps, close the “TEOM KO Verification” ticket.
