TEOM Filter Replacement

Purpose:  To remove a used filter and install a new filter in the TEOM mass transducer.

Required Equipment:  TEOM filter exchange tool

                                            New TEOM filter

TEOM Filter removal

1. At DataView, down the TEOM channel.

2. At the TEOM, press DATA STOP.

3. Open the Sensor Unit door and Open the Mass Transducer.

4. Use the filter extraction tool to lift the filter off the tapered element.

Installing a new TEOM filter

1. Put a new filter in the filter extraction tool.  CAUTION: do not touch the filter with your fingers.

2. Carefully install the new filter on the tapered element. In step 4, use approximately 1 pound (.5kg) for force to seat the filter on to the tapered element.

3. Close the Mass Transducer and Sensor Unit door.
4. At the TEOM press RUN.
5. At DataView up the TEOM channel.
6. In TrackOps close the “TEOM Filter Replacement” ticket.
