NO3/NH4 CH1 KCL Filter Replacement
Purpose: Replace the KCL impregnated filter on CH1 in the
NO3/NH4 inlet box.
Required Equipment:
KCL impregnated filter,
9/16”
wrench
Two
sets of 1/4” ferrules,

Changing the NO3/NH4 CH1 KCL
Filter
1.
At the PC, down
the “NO3NH4” & “SO4” channels.
2.
At the NO3/NH4
inlet box, open the inlet box cover.
3.
Locate the KCL
Filter on CH1 – it is a small blue Balston filter with a label for KCL
impregnation.
4.
Remove the filter
using the 9/16” wrench.
5.
Using a pair of
pliers or the 9/16” wrench to snap off the two ends of the filter to collect
the 1/4” nuts.
6.
Install a new,
KCL impregnated filter using the 1/4” nuts collected and new 1/4” ferrules.
7.
Be sure to
install it the same way the old filter was removed.
8.
Cap the
NO3/NH4/SO4 inlet and do a leak check.
9.
Verify everything
is in place in the NO3/NH4 inlet box, close and secure the cover.
10.
At the PC, up the
“NO3NH4” & “SO4” channels.
11. In TrackOps, close the “NO3/NH4 CH1 KCL Filter Replacement” ticket.
