Reference:  SOPMAN

  1. Down the channel for PRECIP on the SiteManager screen via “Set Flags” button.
  2. Locate the 500:5ml measuring cylinder and add 473ml of water. Pour this into the plastic container that is used for the PRECIP check. (Make sure the valve is closed before adding water.)
  3. Take the screen out of the PRECIP bucket.
  4. While holding the container of water over the PRECIP bucket, slowly open the valve until you have a slow, steady flow of water. (Note: the rocker needs to tip about 4-5 times a minute.)
  5. Open the “Query Data” located under “Tools” on the toolbar.
  6. Select PRECIP from the drop down box, and hit the “Get Data” button to update. (It may be necessary to wait until the last minute average has updated.)
  7. Wait until all the water has left the container and update the data. Add the values for this time. This should add up to a total value of 25.4 (If this value is not correct, it may be necessary to adjust the rocker arm by the two small screws located under the PRECIP bucket. Call Plano for instructions.)
  8. Up the PRECIP channel and record your results in the “MetChecks” form found under “StatusForms” on the tool bar.
