5400-TEOM-PCM-NH3-Dichot Pump Replacement
Purpose: This assures that the vacuum on each
instrument is always good.
Required Equipment:
Vacuum
Pump
Reference: SOPMAN
- When the Scheduled Maintenance ticket is
initiated open a Supplies ticket for a replacement pump.
- Once the pump has been received plug it in to
make sure it wasn’t damaged in shipping.
- On the PCM, NH3 and Dichot do not replace the
pump on a run date. For any site
that is running daily samples replace the pump as quickly as
possible. The down time for the
PCM, NH3 and Dichot has to be less that one hour or the sample isn’t valid.
- On the TEOM and 5400 leave them running or
replace the pump when regular maintenance occurs. DO NOT take them out of run mode unless
other maintenance is occurring.
Each of these instruments runs continuously and will take time to
come back online if they are in the stop mode.
- Remove the tubing and fittings on the old pump
and install them on the new pump.
- Plug the new pump in to the same location where
the old pump was removed.
- Turn the PCM, Dichot and NH3 on using Trigger
Cals. The flows should be
normal. If they are not normal for
those instruments contact Plano.
- Check the flows on the TEOM and 5400 display to
make sure that they are normal.
- If all of the flows are good then close the
Scheduled Maintenance ticket with the time and date of the changeout. Include the flows on the instrument if
available.
