Reference:  Section 3: Service Procedures Page 3-18.

Follow the steps below to exchange the internal large in-line filter:

1.        Down OC, TC, and CO2 Purge channels with "set flag" button located on the right side of the site manager screen.

2.        Press the RUN/STOP button once.

3.        Select F1 (Immed).  This stops the collection of data.

4.        Allow 10 minutes for the instrument to cool down.

5.        Turn off and unplug the instrument.

6.        Pull the bulkhead out to its fully outward position to gain access to the filter on its right side.

7.        Remove the in-line filter attached to the intake side of the mass flow controller.  The easiest way to do this is first to remove the tubing from the intake side of the in-line filter.  Then remove the nut from the intake side of the mass flow controller.  The filter can now be removed.

8.        Remove the elbow fittings from both ends of the filter.

9.        Install these fittings onto the new filter using a small amount of Teflon tape.

10.     Install the new filter, ensuring that the direction of the flow arrow opposes the actual flow.  The arrow on the filter should point away from the flow controller.  This is done to make accumulation visible.

11.     Push in the bulkhead to its fully inward position and connect the inlet tubing.

12.     Turn on the instrument.

13.     Perform a collection path leak test.

Follow the steps below to exchange the external large in-line filter:

1.        Return the instrument to its Ready Operating Mode.

2.        If the in-line filter is attached to a segment of 3/8 inch nylon tub- tubing, detach it from the flow line.

3.        Unscrew the filter from the elbow fitting on the back of the monitor.

4.        Unscrew the push-to-connect fitting (if installed) from the end of the old in-line filter and screw it onto the end of the new in-line filter.

5.        Install the new filter by screwing it into the elbow fitting.  Ensure that the direction of the flow arrow opposes the actual flow.  The flow direction is into the enclosure.  This is done to make accumulation visible.

6.        If a segment of 3/8 inch nylon tubing is included with the monitor, re-attach it to the push-to-connect fitting on the end of the new in-line filter.
