5400 Circulation Pump Removal & Replacing

 

Purpose:  Remove and replace the circulating pump from the instrument according to the following steps.

 

Required Equipment:  Open end wrench set

                                          Screwdriver set

                                          Adjustable wrench

                                               

Reference:  Section 3: Service Procedures Page 3-24.

 

Removal

1.        Turn off instrument power and unplug.

2.        Open enclosure door and extend service bulkhead.

3.        Locate circulating pump on the pinch valve side of the bulkhead and to the left of valve manifold.

4.        Disconnect connector P206.

5.        Remove tubing from valve manifold.

6.        Remove the four screws that secure the circulation pump to the mount bracket.

 

Replacement

1.        Carefully remove black tubing from old pump and install on new pump.

2.        Place Circulation Pump in its proper position on the bulkhead and secure with the four screws previously removed.

3.        Connect the two tubes to the valve manifold.

4.        Reconnect connector P206.

5.        Go into Service Mode. From the Service Menu, move the cursor so it points to “Manual Motion Tests” and press <F4: MFCPress> to enter the “MFC/Pump/Pressure” Screen.

6.        Move the cursor to the row labeled “Circ Pump” and press <F1: ON/OFF> to turn the circulation pump on.  Ensure that the pump is operating properly.

7.        Perform an analysis loop leak test.
